Early Observations
Aug 25, 2007 Amobi Okoye is 20, Dunta Robinson, Jacoby Jones is unheralded, Preseason 2007, Super Mario, Teams that aren't the Texans, The Schaub Experiment

Ten things I’ve noticed in just over a quarter of play.
- Jacoby Jones is as good as advertised. If he ever learns to square his shoulders before he catches a punt, he’ll be unstoppable.
- Mario is looking good. By my count, two assisted tackles, one solo tackle, and a sack.
- Mario is also playing about half the snaps at LDE. I am in favor of this.
- Manchild is not lining up directly beside Mario very often. I am also in favor of this.
- Batman is running the ball well. Off tackle, mainly, but he’s showing some power is left in that engine.
- Dunta is owning TO so far. And he still plays the run extremely well.
- Dallas announcers are jerk offs. Smug jerk offs.
- Schaub has completions on 1-, 3-, and 5-step drops. David Carr does not.
- Tony Romo is being allowed too much time to pass against our base defense.
- Seriously. Jacoby Jones.

Batman stepped it up big time. I think Chester Pitts’ return helped. Did anyone catch the play where he slid over on the other side of McKinney and Weary and hit the hole before Ahman to lay a block down that basically turned a two-yard loss into a five-yard gain? Smooth.
The pass-blocking was mediocre. Schaub looked rushed all day, but he was very efficient against a tough defense. Dre was Dre, as usual. Jacoby continues to make his case for offensive rookie of the year, MVP, and “my hero”. 2nd team receivers looked solid as well; there’s definitely depth if somebody goes down.
Mathis looked weak on returns. I think he felt shown-up by Jacoby and wanted to take one to the house himself. This resulted in bad field position. The sack numbers weren’t there, but there was definitely more pressure tonight. Safeties played better than usual, threw down some hard hits. Fletcher made some nice plays, but got burned a couple times. Still better than Petey.
Most importantly though, the gov’na’s cup now gets to collect dust in Bob McNair’s office.

Is it just me or is the format of the website broken? I’ve noticed it on two different computers. The content appears on a plain white screen with no formatting.

Yes, the formatting is screwed for me on two different machines as well. It has been all week.

Its more than worth it to re-visit last night’s highlights. Jacoby Jones is the spark this team has needed for years - total mancrush:

Rush, gracias.
Everyone else… yeah, this thing crapped out on me last night. I’m going to tinker with it and see if I can save it. Otherwise, it’s time to change.
I fear change.
