Nah, I don’t think you are wrong. I think most humor is highly subjective. For instance, I don’t find 97% of the stuff written on With Leather funny at all. To each his own.

You have to admit, though, that Anthony Maddox would laugh at the t-shirt that says he delivered your couch. Or he would kill you.

Eh, I could be mistaken. After all, I do own a t-shirt that says “Welcome to the Gun Show”. It was one of my favorites until I saw a 350 pound whale of a woman at Cici’s walking away from the buffet line with a huge smile on her face wearing that shirt.

I vote for a one-two plagiarism punch: A shirt that has a picture of Kris Brown labeled “Ba: Badassium” that says “Fuck you, Barium” on the back. I’m still laughing at that one.

It’s funny you mentioned Liston’s quotes, because I was actually thinking about doing a shirt that just said “I rock tits off.” But a shirt that said “dad-flex” would also be amusing.

Sorry. (not really, but here comes some explanatory crap anyway) I wasn’t meaning to imply that you stole from Liston….it was more based on his recent comment at BRB regarding the “dad-flex” plagerism. But if you WERE going to steal from him, it should involve a t-shirt with a cinder block & the face drawn with a sharpie marker….maybe in a Colts jersey.

And there are soooo many freakin 1-line shirts that could come out of the TJ-goes-end-over-end incident last week. Maybe something as simple as “Is it 12:20 yet?”

You’ll note that the description of the Salaami shirt on Spreadshirt mentions that it is a trademark of “Shake, Inc.” What did I steal from Liston, though?

As for whether the t-shirts are funny, I suppose that’s up to the individual. I don’t think they’re as funny as actual blog posts, but that’s just because I’m not much of a one-liner guy. I need a set up to make a joke really work.

I believe that Matt is extremely good at borrowing/stealing ideas from other readers....and I mean that in a complimentary way. Seriously, who wouldn't steal some phrases from Liston?

Semi-Long time reader, first time commenter here. Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoy the blog, you have a way of breaking things down that is both poignant and witty.

With that said, I’d like to point out that your shirts arent up to par with your excellent writing. I’ve cracked up a couple of times at your humorous anecdotes but I gotta say, only the David Carr ridiculously good looking shirt was funny, at least in my humble opinion that is.

Not saying that I could do any better, cause if I could I’d be writing my own blog. But what about your readers? Have you ever thought about having a contest for t-shirt design?
