Wait long enough, someone will do it for you

I was going to write up something about the debacle/miracle/heartbreak that was Sunday, but–thankfully–Tim beat me to it. I don’t have anything of any importance to add, so I just link to his here (offense) and here (defense). I really am glad he took the time and effort, because I am not sure that I could have gone in depth on that game without throwing up all over my computer.

Update: I will mention that Travis Johnson’s performance on Sunday was amazingly bizarre. I mentioned somewhere that I am too lazy to link to right now that he won me over somewhat in camp, as he really seemed to be working. Then, after the Trent Green episode, I actually found myself rooting for the guy. Still, none of that prepared me for seeing Travis effin’ Johnson running sideline to sideline, making hits, playing well, and talking smack after big plays.

OK, maybe I was sorta prepared for the smack talking, but not the other stuff.

Tough weekend Matty, but it appears that you returned unscathed from your trip so I assume you had a good time.

    RE:The Game-

I have to give credit to Rosenfels and crew for pulling ahead, as that was easily one of the ballsiest comebacks I had the displeasure of watching until the final outcome. And you’re right about Travis Johnson, that guy was in Collins face all day. He did a great job of clogging the middle on run plays too. Demeco proves that the Texans D has a solid future, and you guys should be happy about that.

Offensively, aside from that comeback stretch, you guys looked worse than I remember, which wasn’t what I saw during the other Texans games this year. The games I saw of the Texans they looked light years better than years past. I don’t know how much of that is the Texans O sucking or the Titans D getting even better, but it was pitiful. And the lesson, as always, if your QB isn’t named Brady or Manning you better damn well have a running game or at least pretend you do.

All this being said, I have confidence that Kubes will right the ship and get things back in the right direction. He seems like a good coach, and genuinely interested in the outcome of the game.

Now about collecting my winnings- I need something to drink whilst watching my beloved Bosox smite these cowboy heathens.

Tman–email me your address. A bet’s a bet. I promise not to poison the alcohol. Much.

E–I might come back to the game commentary after the post I am working on now. I have some serious questions about our use of the 4-3 and (hopefully) the post will be interesting.

Okay, so I am no longer catatonic after watching Bironas kick his 8th fucking FG of the game…

    Travis played great
Mario was the only one getting consistent pressure on Vodka
    Amobi was mostly invisible
    DeMeco was DeMeco
Petey was Petey (at least for 2 quarters - good God, was he ever within 2 steps of the guy he was covering? the end-zone PI was bullshit though)

as for the offense, Ahman must be hurt still - no burst. But he’s still the best option.
Apostrophe is becoming the second best story on offense (after us finding a legit NFL QB in Schaub)
we need AJ back. Like, yesterday.
