Kickoff

After two days with no internet and two days in Missouri, I am back.  I know you missed me.  YOU know you missed me.  Here be the links.  Unless otherwise noted, h/t to Eric on these.

Scary.  Mario Williams and his teammates all agree—you still have not seen the best possible Mario Williams.  That sentence should make any QB on the Texans’ 2008 schedule piss himself.

Batman Returns? Ahman Green swears that last year was a fluke, that he’s not injury prone, and that he’s going to be back with a vengeance this year.  You’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.

Greetings and Salutations.  Chris Taylor?  Earl Cochran.  Earl?  Chris.

I watched that Cochran hit about four times. That’s some man shit right there.

Here’s the one thing that always bothers me about training camp. When I see a great play by the defense, I’m thinking, “damn offense fucked up”. When I see a great play by the offense, I’m thinking, “where’s the fucking D?!”

I realize there’s no way around it and I should really just think it’s a great play that couldn’t be stopped by another team. I also realize that not seeing anyone make a play would be 100 times worse. I guess it’s just that on those types of video clips it’s hard to tell whether it was a great play or someone blew an assignment. Did Cochrane have a great move or did someone whiff on a block?

Generally, I’m a pretty optimistic, “bottle is half full” type of fan, but I guess so many years of the actual answer being “offense/defense fucked up” makes me a little nervous still. Or maybe I just need to shut the fuck up and enjoy the show.

@Vega: I feel the same way every time I watch practice videos. Just my nature I guess

@Shake: I feel kind of funny, like climbing the rope in gym class.
