Kickoff

Aug 21, 2008 Kickoff

Five days of pro football starting tonight:  Five.  It’s still only Week 3 of the pre-season, but that still excites me to no end.  Tomorrow, your juggernaut Houston Texans travel north to play the Dallas Stereotypes.  With a h/t to Eric, both the Rain Man and Andre Johnson are expected to suit up.  Here’s hoping Dre stuffs some footballs down Rain Man’s g-string.  In addition, Texas-Ex Kasey Studdard will be lining up in place of Chester Pitts.

As I’ve done for the other pre-season games, I’ll be heading over to BattleRedBlog to cannibalize their bandwidth cannibalize their bandwidth.  I may not be there until after the kids are asleep, however.  So, if I’m late, drink two extra beers for me.

Not gonna bitch: Just sayin’.

Kuharsky also loves him some Owen Daniels: At this point, outside of the Dolts, I don’t see any teams that can match up with our WR and Owen Daniels.  Sure, it could just be pure homerism, but I’m incredibly excited.  If we can get Jacoby Jones where he should be, he adds another weapon.

Gene Upshaw dead: When I was a kid, my second favorite team was the Oakland Raiders.  With the excpetion of Jack Tatum, whom I considered to be borderline felonious, I loved watching them, especially the defense.  But that offensive line was anchored and led by Gene Upshaw.  RIP.

    Kuharsky does a hour long segment, here in Nashville, 3 times a week. I tried to call in and voice this Texans thoughts about both VY and lil Dick this AM. Alas, I couldn’t get thru and the talking heads didn’t addressed RJ “love letter” until his hour had passed. Most folks here don’t share those tender feeling for their franchise QB!
